I used to play cribbage with my grandmother, and have since developed a love for card games! Students were taught a straight-forward 3-digit addition card game that they practiced today. Students flip a card, add the digit to an addition problem, and solve the addition problem after 6 cards are drawn. The person with the highest sum is the winner. Students are experts now, so if you challenge them, be prepared for a battle!
In Social Studies today we examined rocks that were found on top of a mountain in Kananaskis. These rocks have shells, creatures, and different coloured rocks smashed together. The children when through our traditional examination of artifacts, using the framework: I see, I think, I wonder... This work will help push our learning forward where we will explore Alberta from different perspectives and begin to get a 'Sense of the Land'.
Upcoming Dates:
-Terry Fox Run is tomorrow, Thursday, September 24th at 9:30.
-Parent Teacher interviews are tomorrow and Friday morning.(If those times don't work for you, please send an email and we can schedule a new time!)
Question of the Day:
If you could carry out an independent project, what would it be?
