A reminder that tomorrow is the last day of school before holidays! Classes will resume on Monday, January 4th. I hope everyone has a fun, safe and relaxing vacation with their families! See you all in 2016!
Tomorrow is pajama day! We will also be caroling tomorrow morning in the gym with the rest of the school. Time in the classroom will be spent doing special activities and games. If students wish to bring special snacks for the class that is fine.

Only four school days left until holiday break! The grade fours have been busy adding details to their projects. Thank you for sending in materials to help us with this project! We began new multiplication centers today. These centers are designed to teach students the many different ways you can solve multiplication projects, such as through repeated addition, an array or using a multiplication chart. Students will use this information to relate multiplication to division in the new year.
Please remember donations for Canstruction! We will be building tomorrow afternoon! :) Hi Students,
Please complete this survey AFTER you have completed the Hour of Code program. Thanks! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HOC2015_S_Post Hello Students,
Please go to: http://code.org/learn There are tutorials at the top of the page. There will be 3 pictures in a row with a button that says, "Go" on them. ** Stick with the 'Blocks' coding ** Parents,
We are aware of some recent concerns about student account security at the school. We would like to assure everyone that student accounts are secure. We are working with the students over the next few days to help them create more secure passwords, so that their profiles can remain private. Please have a discussion with your child about not sharing their passwords or email with anybody. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's classroom teacher. Sincerely, The Grade 4 Team Challenge: Find at least one object at home that is made from a natural resource found in your region. Take a picture of it or bring it into display with your project!
Don't forget donations for Canstruction! Also, please bring in empty toilet paper/paper towel rolls for our special activity tomorrow. The grade fours are wrapping up their project work around Alberta's natural regions. Our visual representations are in their final stages and just need a few minor details! Any materials you have at home that might be useful in adding plants, animals, evidence of human impact, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Specifically, we are looking for miniature models of animals that would be found in the regions.
Students, please complete this survey before Thursday: A reminder to bring in donations for Canstruction! Canstruction
Evergreen School will be participating once again in the annual Canstruction® event in December for the Calgary Food Bank. Our grade four class has taken on the challenge to think like engineers, designers, architects and builders to create an extraordinary structure all out of cans of food which, after judging, will be then de-canstructed, with all food going to the Calgary Food Bank. This year’s theme is nature. The grade 4 design team has decided to extend their learning about the regions of Alberta and build a model of the Rocky Mountains. In order to make their vision come true, they are looking for canned and boxed food donations. Specifically, they are looking for: · Catelli 500g spaghetti · Blue menu cans (Superstore) · Bottled water with blue lids · Del Monte green cans · Great Value white canned foods · Clover Leaf Flaked White Tuna – black label All food donations are gratefully accepted and can be dropped off at the school office anytime next week. Thank you for your support of this project which in turn will go to support needy Calgarians. Please remember to bring money for the Toy and Book sale tomorrow. Remember that all the money raised will be used to buy items to fill backpacks for children that are homeless. Last year we raised just over $1000 and filled 40 backpacks. We are hoping to do the same thing this year. We will also be accepting cash donations for Stephen's Backpack Society. If you wish to purchase items from the sale, please bring in a re-usable bag to carry your items home.
Thank you for your support. |
