What a busy and exhausting day! The learning was enormous, and the kids were engaged from the beginning of the day until the end. Each student did two distinctly different sessions.
The first session had students examining artifacts. They were challenged to think about what "I see, I think, I wonder". After receiving a research paper, the students shared their learning with the rest of their group. They learned where the artifact was from, what is was used for, who was using it, and how it connected to that culture in general.
The second session took students through Alberta's history and culture as they explored hundred year old landscape paintings, sculptures, and artifacts related to being Canadian. We saw everything from posters to cassette tapes as the students learned about our past.
Question of the Day:
What was your highlight of the trip to the Glenbow?
