Praying Mantises are so icky... But let's face it, they're also exceptionally cool! Our egg sacks are strung up in enclosures next to the windows, ready for misting and (hopefully) the emergence of 40-400 mantis babies that will begin devouring each other. See? That's pretty cool. We're working on creating a live feed to post on our site so that kids will be able to check if our newest classmates have arrived during the weekends.
Students are starting to feel at home with our social studies work. They are reading, constructing knowledge, and creating writing that answers their questions about Peru. Feel free to ask them what they are learning, and help them further their understanding by going to the library, checking out the links on our class website, or just sharing your wealth of knowledge!
Upcoming Events:
-Tomorrow we will have the Occupational Therapist come in to discuss zones of regulation (as you can tell from how often we work on this, we think this is very important!)
-Tomorrow the Artists in Residence will be back to support our work with visual journaling.
Question of the Day:
What was the first failed attempt to get Ruby out of her inclosure in The One and Only Ivan?
