Although it was a bit frigid, the kids trekked nearly 5 Kilometers (there and back) this morning! While there they sketched a plant that they will return to later in the year. They also picked up decaying old leaves, turned them over, and noted their observations. Upon our return to class, the students created a journal page where they sketched a stick that was buried within the leaves, covered in moss.
Tomorrow we are looking forward to diving into multiplication and division. Students will be learning how to multiply up to 9x9. We'll be examining real-world problems, playing games, looking at arrays, and building our understanding of multiplication and division.
There has been new homework assigned on Mathletics to supplement this work.
Question of the Day:
What is one interesting characteristic about the plant you sketched?
