These kids are amazing! You'd think that introducing them to Google Documents and asking them to peer-check and to provide feedback to each other digitally would end in chaos, but it was nothing short of outstanding! The kids have taken their plans, and they are starting to really share their learning as they add details and enrich their stories.
In math, each group continues their work with gathering information from data and drawing conclusions. One group, for example, has finished collecting data about vehicles and their speeds as they go through our school zone. They are now using that information to ask complex questions and to build conclusions. Furthermore, they have started using the iPads in an "App Smash". An App Smash is where kids are challenged to express their understanding and create content using multiple applications on the iPads. They are usually fantastic learning opportunities as students share their learning visually and orally in a creative way. We'll get their creations up on the site the second they're finished!
Please note that we continue to be in desperate need of parent volunteers on the following days. Thanks to the two that have already contacted us!
June 23: We will be practicing our evacuation walk, and require adults to help meet our 8:1 ratio.
June 24: We would like to make up our missed trip to Fish Creek. If you can volunteer, please let us know!
Question of the Day:
