Drill your children on making 10! It's an important mental math strategy (should be able to blurt the answer without using fingers/tools), and we don't want to spend another minute on it... If you're looking for a game to play, roll a 10 sided dice, have your child tell you how many are needed to make 10. You could also review fact families. For example:
7+3=10
3+7=10
10-7=3
10-3=7
Our entertaining beginnings are progressing well! Students had a second writing prompt today, and they were able to write entertaining beginnings that included a wonder or a worry.
Tomorrow is the big day. Our classes will be singing and performing for the Remembrance Day assembly at 10:30. Please remind your child to wear red, white, or black. We hope to see you tomorrow morning!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hordyk
