In science, students were given the challenge to build the strongest and tallest structure using only 50 blocks. They evaluated which type of blocks would be best and began making a plan. After a period of time, the "earthquake" (Mrs. Hordyk hitting a table) came around testing all the towers. Students discovered that the larger the base, the stronger the tower moved. They also recognized that it is still important to have supporting blocks throughout their structure. We then compared their understanding to build strong structures to that of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Tomorrow students will receive a review of the super villains that often invade our brains. This would be a great opportunity to ask them which one they find the hardest to get out of their brains and why.
A reminder, we are still looking for volunteers for swimming for all dates from April 13 - 16.
Question of the Day:
How come the Leaning Tower of Pisa leans?
