Always marching forward, we had the students create a journal page explaining increasing, decreasing, and repeating patterns using pictures and words. It was interesting to see what the kids came up with. This assessment will help us determine our next steps in math.
Students have also spent some time completing their acrostic poetry. It was supposed to be completed yesterday, but the kids were in the "zone", so we allowed them to continue working on them today. They will be going up on the blog today or tomorrow so you can check them out at home. This was a challenging task, and it was the first time that we played a supporting role in having their work peer and self edited, rather than teacher corrected.
Tomorrow we are looking forward to our morning meeting, and initiating our social studies project about Tunisia. All learners put for a great effort today, and were very impressive!
The acrostic poetry can be found here.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hordyk
