Happy Monday! We had a great day of moving learning forward. We continue to work with kids on receiving and using feedback to improve work. If you have an opportunity to talk about how you (or professional athletes, artists, etc.) use feedback to improve in their field, we would greatly appreciate it!
In Social Studies we are using a rubric to show kids exactly what is expected of them. They are learning that the feedback they get now is not part of their final mark, or even representative of their final product: It is useful information that can and should be used for their final product.
In math today the students completed a bar graph. It was interesting to observe how it went. We learned that bar graphs will need to be incorporated throughout a number of activities in a variety of contexts for multiple exposures.
Tomorrow we are planning on giving each and every student feedback on their research projects. From there, we will give them lots of time to make the requisite changes to improve their work.
Please note the "Winter Walking Wednesday" posters below. They were made by our "Student Voice" representatives.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hordyk
Mr. MacKenzie
