From planning arches to paraphrasing non-fiction writing, the kids were challenged from the beginning of the day to the end! Furthermore, they were able to do all of this with increasing independence.
In Science today, half of the students were treated to a discussion about crafting arches. The watched one being made while they shared observations, connections, and discoveries with their peers. The next step for this group will be to build an arch of their own!
Students are also working on their own writing. In Social Studies we are preparing them for report writing through dismantling informational text and reconstructing it with their own understanding and connections. They are working hard at creating textbook pages for a grade 3 textbook to be used by future grades.
Upcoming Dates:
May 5: Mrs. Redd and Mrs. Predika's classes will be going to be Glenbow.
May 6: (Wednesday) We will be going to be Glenbow to participate in their programs.
May 6: Hats on for Mental Health! We encourage all students to wear their hats during our field trip to show support for mental health awareness.
Question of the Day:
Which is fraction is bigger? Why?
5/8 or 1/2
(Good luck, that's a tricky one!)
