Students took part in their music class this this morning and then had a chance to finish, refine and test their cars. We are looking forward to officially testing our cars tomorrow to determine the features that the cars have which facilitate coasting distance from a ramp. We will be using our work with decimals for the measuring process and to finish off our decimal Bingo activity.
We are looking forward to leading into our work with bicycles later this week. We have a variety of bicycle as well as a range of spare parts and tools that students will be using in different stations. It's amazing how complex modern bicycles and cars are, but are yet still based upon some fairy basic designs. One thing to ponder is how many different systems could be described in bicycles and, approximately, how many parts make up each system?
In addition to integrating mathematics into our work with bicycles, we will also be integrating art as well - stay tuned!
