Good afternoon,
Learners had an event filled day today beginning with developing and implementing strategies to improve, or "blast off," their Social Studies presentations. What were some of the strategies that learners can share with their family members?
Learners had the opportunity to begin designing their marshmallow catapults. Materials will be provided, but learners are also welcome to bring in appropriate materials or an item from home that they think will be helpful for their construction. I'm sure learners can explain how they are using simple machines in their designs.
Learners spent the afternoon watching the Grade 1 video presentations in the gym. Great job to the Grade 1's for the amount of effort and excellent presentations skills!
Learners also had the opportunity to continue constructing their inventions made of bicycle parts. What can learners share with their family members about the purpose and construction process of their invention?
Here are some details pertaining to our upcoming trip:
We are very excited about our upcoming trip to Heritage Park. As a reminder, the bus will leave Evergreen at 9 and will be leaving Heritage Park at 2.
If your child has a pass to Heritage Park, please have your child bring it to school on Wednesday morning and we will photocopy it before we go. This will save our school money.
The forecast claims that it will be hot and sunny. Please have your child dress appropriately.
Ensure that your child brings the following items:
-Sunscreen
-Hat
-Extra Water
-Snack
-Lunch
-closed-toe shoes (No flip flops, please!)
Please DO NOT bring:
-Electronic devices
-Money
We can’t wait for Wednesday!
All the best,
Ms. Bell
Mrs. Caravan
Mr. MacKenzie
Mrs. Predika
Mr. Smith
