Thanks very much to those parents who were able to join us yesterday. We had an enjoyable day of learning in an amazing new facility for Calgary. Our literacy work continues to focus on setting questions, gathering information from a variety of sources and sharing that information. It means reading and writing in a different way than when we were focusing on narrative stories. One student told us about the website GemKids which had interesting information about gemstones. In Math, we are learning about multiplication - our focus has been repeated addition, skip counting, and related facts. Soon, students should be able to write story scenarios where multiplication would be the operation for problem solving. Ms. Trgina is a wonderful addition to our class and we're glad to have her until mid-April.
Reminders: Fun Lunch tomorrow. Spelling quiz on Friday. Please return Fish Creek field trip forms. Could you please help us collect building materials for our next Science unit - we could use cardboard rolls, straws, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, styrofoam, clean plastic cups, small pieces of wood - any shape, wire, etc. Our collection will be ongoing, Thanks for you help.
See you tomorrow,
TW
