Parents, please send your child to school with any leftover cardboard from cereal boxes, clean juice boxes, etc. The students are using these materials for a fundraising project we are doing. This will be to raise money for our Drumheller field trip in March. Please see the ongoing project site that can be found here: http://teamevergreen.weebly.com/book-sale.html.
Happy New Year and welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday with family and friends.
The grade fours had a great first day back. We began the day by setting New Years resolutions for ourselves. Each student developed an academic goal, a learning readiness goal and a personal goal that they would like to improve on in 2016. We will share these at conferences next week. Please remember to sign up for conferences through the online booking system! We are also finalizing our Natural Regions projects. These "museum" artifacts will be on display during conferences. We are currently working on written pieces to accompany the displays. Topics in our writing include climate, landforms, wildlife, plants and bodies of water. Students are using the hamburger format to write these paragraphs, and will also do an audio recording attached to a QR code for sharing with observers. Students are welcome and encouraged to work on these paragraphs at home as well. Question of the day: What do you know about division? When is a time that you had to solve a division problem? |
