This morning we continued our understanding of fiction writing by talking about character. We discussed how characters need to be described both inside and out, and how they need to fit into our settings like puzzle pieces. The imagination that students demonstrated was wonderful, I cannot wait to read more!
We had a very Earth-citing afternoon! Students used their knowledge of the layers of the Earth to build a plasticene model. Students were focused and patient as they layered various colours to make a three dimensional Earth. It was an exciting moment when they cut away a triangular section to reveal the layers inside! Students then built a legend to help others read their Earths. Ask your student what their favourite part of the construction was, and what are the four layers of the Earth. We will be documenting this project on Iris, and I will be sending it home next week.
Have a wonderful evening!
