Welcome to March!
This morning we continued our experiment on joining materials. Students finished testing their popsicle sticks, then graphed how much weight (in grams) each held. Ask your student which join held the most, and which held the least! Were they surprised by this?
Today students also assisted their buddies with math! We discussed what concepts our buddies have been focusing on (doubles, plus and minus 1 and 2, skip counting, etc.). The grade three's then invented their own math games using dice, cards and other math tools to play with their buddies. All students did a great job of practicing math skills together! I was very impressed at the creativity in the games, and how students made the games harder and easier for their buddies! Mrs. Caravan said that her class cannot wait for next week!
We are going skating tomorrow! Please remember to send in skates, helmets and gloves! We will not be back until 3:15/3:30 so please make alternative arrangements for pickup.
Have a wonderful evening!
