This morning students continued to look at identifying rocks and minerals through a variety of experiments. Yesterday, students identified the mystery rocks from their data. Today we revealed the rock names, ask your student which ones they identified correctly and how! Students then performed the experiments on a new set of minerals and will be identifying them tomorrow.
This afternoon students met with their buddies. The energy was very high! We made our own Giacometti sculptures using pipe cleaners, tin foil and some plasticene. The sculptures were a great success! Ask your student to show you their sculpture, and what inspired Giacometti.
I sent home field trip forms for Fish Creek Park. Unfortunately, I did not realize that there is a photocopying error. I will be sending a new set home again tomorrow. I deeply apologize for the mix-up and any inconvenience!
Have a wonderful evening,
- Ms. Bell
