This morning we started discussing grammar, and how it helps us structure our sentences to make sense. We started by talking about how a sentence is a complete thought, ended by punctuation. We then broke sentences into two parts, and discussed how the two parts need to match! Ask your student what kind of silly sentence they wrote, and what parts they broke it into!
This afternoon students met with their buddies to teach them how to use Iris. The grade 3's were the experts, helping their buddies log in, find Iris, and then input a new writing goal. This was a wonderful way for students to see how the grade 1's writing goals were the same and different from our own!
I have sent out the rest of the skating forms, please send them back by Friday, January 27th.
