Today students were architects!
This morning we finished watching and taking notes on a video about what it means to be an architect, and how there are important steps before we build anything. First, we need a plan!
This afternoon we collaborated with students in Mrs. Hordyk's room to create three plan drawings of each student's Calgary structure: a bird's eye view, a front view, and a side view. Some students had chosen the same buildling, and we able to work together to view images of the building. Students then decided which materials they would need to begin construction, and how different sections of their buildings would be made of different materials.
This is why I am again requesting that if you have ANY recyclable materials, please send them to school! In particular we are looking for newspaper, cardboard and clear plastic (from berry or tomato containers especially, it is wonderful for windows!). Thank you very much!
Quick reminder that tomorrow students are performing their hip-hop dance piece, which they have been working on all week. The performance begins at 10 am, families are welcome to attend!
Have a wonderful evening!
