Today students continued to examine their writing and determining their next steps for growth. Students took their writing samples and ranked them on a continuum. We discussed why some were better or worse then others, looking at titles, details, and description. Students then reflected on their own writing and identified one small thing they can do to make their writing stronger. Next week students will be putting their goals into action! Ask your student what goal they chose and why.
This afternoon students made a visual journal page about soil, examining what soil is made out of, and what different kinds are. Then students examined three different kinds of soil - topsoil, silica sand, and earthworm castings - looking for which soil would be best at repairing a broken birds nest and why. Ask your student which soil was the best!
Quick notes!
Thank you! Have a wonderful evening,
