What a busy day! Today students continued writing their fictional stories, using the rubric to help guide them. Then we celebrated coding week by learning how to animate our names using Scratch programming. Students were so excited to make characters and letters change colour, grow, shrink and make noises just through computer code! Ask your student to show this to you at home!
This afternoon Mrs. Roworth joined us for Building Challenge Part II! Continuing with what we have been studying this week, students used their knowledge of three-dimensional shapes and their reflections from Tuesday to re-design or improve their freestanding towers. We learned a lot of lessons from this project, including the importance of sacrificing height for stability, and persevering through challenges even when it looks like we have failed. I was really impressed by the structures built and the learning absorbed! I can't wait to see where this project takes us next!
Have a wonderful evening! Stay warm!
