Welcome back! Today we read a book called Your Fantastic Elastic Brain about how our brains stretch and grow as we learn. We discussed how our brains are growing and learning constantly, and it is good to practice, try new things and make mistakes, because it all helps our brains!
This afternoon we introduced our beautiful visual journal. We analyzed and sorted various creative journal examples to understand the purpose and expectations of our creative journals. I was thrilled at how students could use the details in the examples to justify their answers.
After setting the criteria, we started our study of hearing and sound by making a table! Students brainstormed and recorded what they already know and what they wonder about sound. Ask your student what they were wondering about sound. We will be coming back to these tables and write down what we have learned throughout the unit!
Tomorrow we are beginning some hands on experiments with sound, as well as sharing the wonderful Me In A Bag projects that have been sent in!
Just a quick reminder that if you have any forms at home (the manila envelope, digital citizenship form or Scholastic) to please send them in! Thank you!
Have a wonderful evening!
