Today students completed their diamante poems. Students accessed a website that helped format a diamond shaped poem about one topic using adjectives, gerunds (-ing words) and a noun or short phrase. Ask your student what topic they chose to write about! (And what a gerund is!)
This afternoon Mrs. Robinson joined us to create a Father's Day surprise! Shhh! We also went to the Learning Commons with Mrs. Hordyk's class to explore and take out some new books. Many students also gave a book talk to the classes - this is where a student or two share a book (describing the plot, the characters, if it's fiction or nonfiction, who would enjoy it, etc.). We have talked about many different books and genres this year, and it is always wonderful to see students discussing reading with so much enthusiasm!
Have a wonderful day!
