This morning we had a class meeting to continue our discussions of health and social/emotional development. Today we learned about Rock Brain, and how he invades our brains and makes us focus on what we want, and not work in groups well. We discussed how we have had Rock Brain in the past, and how we can recognize and defeat him now. Then students completed a challenge in their table groups - use 50 cups to build the tallest tower possible. Students communicated with their group members, collaborated, compromised, defeated Rock Brain and made some incredible towers! Ask your student how the challenge went for them, and how they worked with the other students.
We also continued our time coding. Students are learning how to use loops to make their codes more efficient, and are beginning to troubleshoot their codes for mistakes. Students really enjoy their time coding, and frequently collaborate with classmates to problem solve.
Just a reminder to please send any report card envelopes or field trip forms to school on Monday!
Have a wonderful weekend, stay warm!
