Dear Families,
Today we had a special presentation from Mrs. Healing. Students identified what is the difference between a good habit and a poor habit. She introduced the topic of habits of mind. The first habit she chatted about was persistence. Ask your child what persistence means and what does it look like.
Aside from the presentation, students also had music. They have been working hard on preparing for our upcoming Remembrance Day assembly which is on Nov. 10 at 10am. Parents are welcome to attend.
A few housekeeping items:
Smile! Some students brought home their school pictures. I remembered last minute and was able to hand them out to some. They rest I will hand out tomorrow.
Student are allowed to wear their costumes on Halloween. We ask that any accessory items, such as wands or shields remain home. We also ask that no masks or blood be worn as it is quite scary for the little ones. Learning will occur as usual. We will have a small time of celebration and sharing. I will provide more detail and information about that as time gets closer.
A note from parent council:
Hallowe’en Howl | Friday, October 28 2-4pm
It’s time for the Evergreen School Hallowe’en Howl! Join us from 2:00-4:00pm on Friday November 28, 2016 for a howling good time.
There will be a DJ, concession (pizza, snacks & beverages available for purchase…bring your loonies and toonies), arts & crafts, games, and most importantly - don’t forget to wear your costumes!!!
There will no tickets or cost to the event this year. Due to the growing size of our school this event is limited to current Evergreen students and their immediate family only. All students must be accompanied and supervised by a parent during this event.
We need lots of help to make this event a success! If you are able to help please click on the following link to sign up https://www.volunteersignup.org/P4Y3B
Thought of the day:
Give an example of how you are persistent.
Have a great night!
