Dear Families,
This morning our math lesson became double learning. First we focused on strategies to help us complete subtraction questions. We worked with a partner to receive feedback and information on how we are doing in each of the steps. The second part of our learning came when we were challenged from out partners. Some decided just to give up and say it was too hard, while others persevered and completed the challenged given by their partner. This gave the opportunity to introduce F.A.I.L. It means First Attempt In Learning. If something doesn't quite work the first time, it's ok to try again. In fact it is recommended!
This afternoon I asked the students what is a good quality of life. They brainstormed in their groups and concluded that the world quality depends upon how long or how good something is. Students were then given the definition that quality of life is impacted by a person's health, comfort and happiness. Students identified their top three qualities that are most important to them.
We also worked on our letters to our soldiers. Students received feedback from me based on the criteria we created. Students were encouraged to take my feedback and improve upon their letters.
Have a wonderful evening!
