Maps, maps, maps... Today, the students used Google Maps as a tool to locate countries around the world (as well as their homes!). They also learned to calculate the flight time and cost from Calgary to a number of locations.
We also spent time preparing for the Remembrance Day assembly by writing letters to the soldiers that are currently serving. It is interesting to watch students' writing improve! They are all beginning to use appropriate punctuation, and they have shown that they understand the power of writing for asking questions, sharing thanks, providing motivation, and expressing ideas.
Tomorrow will be another busy day... We are going to continue our focus on Remembrance Day as we complete our poetry, our letters, and practice for our performances.
Reminders:
1. Scholastic Orders should be in by Friday
2. Our Remembrance Day assembly is going to take place on November 10.
All the best!
Mr. MacKenzie
