Today was a very busy day. To start we had Science, constructing multiple trusses varying in design. In Social we studied cultural musical pieces from the countries we are studying, analyzing the emotions presented within music. In Language Arts we looked at writing topic sentences as a power/number statement, in preparation for paragraph writing. We also spent some time practicing our spelling words for Friday's spelling test. The students also continued to learn about Bollywood dancing with SoundKreations.
Tomorrow we will be focusing on the cultures, resources, services, and traditions, from countries around the world through the integration of Art. Students will also continue their work with SoundKreations for Physical Education and Music.
Reminders:
1. Spelling test is Friday
2. Students who have individual parts in the school musical need to practice their lines.
3. Screenagers| Growing up in the Digital Age (70min)
Presented by Evergreen School Council at 6:30 March 16th.
Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a sixsecond attention span? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that with her own kids and learned that the average kid spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. She wondered about the impact of all this time and about the friction occurring in homes and schools around negotiating screen time—friction she knew all too well.
