The students watched themselves singing the Remembrance Day song today... We made a video and patched it through to the screen. It can be difficult to watch yourself sing, but the students watched/listened to themselves, and I have to say they were beautiful... They are going to do so, so well at the Remembrance Day Assembly!
Today we spent some more time building math monsters, but it was hard, so we're going to keep going tomorrow. The learning here was that a digit can have a different value, based on where it falls in a number. For example, a 2 in the hundreds place is worth much more than a 2 in a 1s place. The students were given the digits 3, 4, and 5. From there, they could move them around (345, 534, 543, for example) and create 'math monsters'. This will help to continue building a foundation in number for when we continue our work on addition and subtraction with regrouping.
Tomorrow will be the first day the students get their email addresses! They will be using their email addresses, primarily, for logging into google documents and typing their stories.
Reminders:
1. The Halloween Howl that the School Council puts on is this Friday afternoon.
2. Our Spooky Story celebration is Monday at around 1:30 (thanks of the parents who are bringing food!).
Have a great night!
