The entire grade 3 student body demonstrated how poised and polished they can be as they sang and performed in the Remembrance Day Assembly. We were so proud of them... They truly were role models for the entire school this morning. Our practice paid off!
The students spent all of their free time (between practices and performances) building a 'boss' using base 10 blocks. It is very important that they understand how to read large numbers, and how to 'regroup'. For example, 12 ten rods is 120, which means we can move the 1 to the hundreds column. This will help them as they move into complex addition problems.
Next week will be jam-packed with deep learning! The students are going to continue looking at quality of life. How do we need to achieve a quality of life in relation to health, happiness and comfort.
Reminders:
1. No school tomorrow
Have a great weekend,
Mr. MacKenzie
