The students were taught expanded notation in math today. After today, they have a better sense of the value of a digit, based on where it is in a number. For example, in 1307, the 1 is actually worth 1000. Where as the 3 is only worth 300. The students used this understanding to solve problems.
In science, we reviewed our discussions from the guest speaker on Friday, and we spent some time taking jot notes. Tomorrow we are going to diagram the inner ear.
We are also excited that Mrs. Healing will be teaching our students about "Habits of Mind"!
Reminders:
1. Lids and maps.
2. That's it!
Have a great night,
Mr. MacKenzie
