Good afternoon families!
I hope everyone enjoyed the amazing weather this long weekend!
We began our day with our spelling test today. Ask me how many words I got correct. Did I remember my new words list?
Next we had gym with Mr. MacKenzie's class. Ask me what we learned in gym today.
Then we wrote a series of non-fiction paragraphs about trout and the trout life cycle together. Ask me what stages of the life cycle we wrote about and what adaptations each stage had to help increase survival of the species.
After recess we had snack and read Harry Potter. What is happening in the story right now?!
Then we went on mathletics and completed assigned tasks while Miss Tennis assessed several students' reading levels. Ask me what I worked on during this time.
After lunch we D.E.A.R. Ask me what books I read.
Then we reviewed the expectations for our non-fiction writing about our animals and began writing our paragraphs. Ask me what we had to include for the topic paragraph and the first paragraph. How many sentences did I need to include? Was I able to start my writing independently?
Next we had music. We learned some new skills on the recorder today. Ask me what I learned in music today.
We ended the day sharing our posters that we made in social studies. We are going to determine what important information we need to include from each country in our visual journal pages.

Evergreen for ALS
Our school is participating in a community walk to support the ALS Society of Alberta on Thursday, June 1, 2017. This is a cause that has directly impacted our school this year. Approximately 3 000 Canadians live with ALS. There is no known cause or cure for this devastating disease - yet.
All proceeds from our walk will stay in Alberta to make each day the best possible day for people living with and affected by ALS. Please use the link below if you would like to make an online donation. Our School ALS Donation Page with the ALS Society of Alberta: EVERGREEN FOR ALS . We thank you for your support!
