Good afternoon families,
Today we began our day with science. We continued researching our animals. Ask me what facts I learned about my animal today.
Next we had gym. We learned a new dance for ALS. Ask me to show you our dance!
Mrs. Roworth came to help us write limerick poems about our animals. We had to describe our animals using clues so that someone could guess our animal! We had to make sure that each consecutive set of two lines rhymed. Ask me what my animal is and see if we can brainstorm some rhymes using facts about my animal!
After recess and snack we completed a survey for Mrs. Wilcox about our Fish Creek Park learning experience. Ask me to show you the survey! It's on the blog under Science!
Then we went on mathletics and completed the tasks assigned by Miss Tennis. Ask me what types of questions I had to answer.
After lunch we continued working on our new self-portrait art projects. First we critically analyzed works of art created by Sandra Silzberweig. Ask me what I learned about this Canadian artist and which art piece is my favourite!
Then we created our own self-portraits in this style. Ask me what shapes, designs and lines I included and why.
We had music and learned more about recorders today.
- Miss Tennis

Hello Families,
It is an exciting time for grade 3 students as they begin their recorder unit. Mrs. H-McDee would like to request the following to ensure that all recorder classes are successful and ideal learning environments.
- Students are asked to ONLY take recorders home to practice on WEEKENDS
- When practicing at home, you may want to set up a specific time period e.g.. 5pm – 5:15pm
- Practice sessions of 15 minutes each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are recommended
- Never play recorder outside in the cold/hot weather
- Recorders can be cleaned in the dishwasher or with warm water and dish soap.
- Please make sure they are completely dry before placing in baggie or case
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
- To ensure proper recorder tone, encourage player to Breathe warm air GENTLY into recorder and COVER any holes required for each note
** Students should never blow hard enough to make any loud/squeaky sounds
Good Luck and Happy Playing! (& Listening)
