What a day! We did an extremely cool task today. The students are learning about writing entertaining beginnings. What better way than to study how the pros do it? The students went to the Learning Commons and borrowed 1 book each. The only criteria is that the book had to have a very entertaining beginning. They shared the beginnings with each other.
We also spent some time prototyping a musical instrument. The watched a video (below) about using found materials to craft an instrument. Tomorrow, we are going to actually build the instruments. If you have any found materials (lids, cans, string, etc.) that your child or other children might use in building their instruments, please send it to school tomorrow. If you don't have any, not to worry! Teachers are notorious hoarders of reusable materials and we have plenty of stuff to pull from.
Reminders:
1. Please bring any materials for instruments tomorrow.
2. Lids and Maps (we only have 1 student who brought maps... Maps can be tourist maps, National Geographic Maps... Anything!)
3. Please review the videos below for the Remembrance Day assembly.

Found Objects / Homemade Instruments
Music Videos
These will be performed at our assembly. The more time students have on them, the better!
