What rights do children have? Today we began examining the differences between the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms with the United Nations Rights of the Child. Through examining photographs of different classrooms across the world, students were able to determine similarities and differences, and to see the plethora of ways that people's needs have been met.
Furthermore, we discussed responsibilities. What rights and what responsibilities do you have, connected to your education? The students are creating a mini book, detailing their learning.
In Math, we reviewed 3D shapes and the key vocabulary (vertex, face, edge, base). The students began using single-point perspective to develop a city that they are flying over. It's just a rough copy, we'll move into the good copy in a little bit!
Reminders:
1. The more volunteers the better! We have 3 parents coming to the year-end picnic. If there are more, I promise it will be a lot of fun!
2. On Thursday of next week, please have your child wear white and red. For our sports day this year, the theme is "Canada's 150".
All the best,
Mr. MacKenzie
