What a busy day... The students started cutting up magazines today to organize and recognize non-fiction text features in National Geographic Magazines. In the upcoming week we'll be using this information to build criteria and to begin developing our second magazine page.
In science, we reflected on a recent experiment about the shapes of pillars and their weight distribution. The students then created their own containers for our Valentine's Day exchange. Afterwards we had a bit of a celebration and enjoyed games outside.
Tomorrow morning, before we go skating, the students are going to continue their learning through looking at headings, subheadings, captions, maps, timelines, and the like to build understanding.
Reminders:
1. Tomorrow we'll be going on our final skating adventure. Please have your child come to school with the appropriate outerwear.
2. There is no school on Thursday or Friday for Teachers convention, and there is no school on Monday for Family Day.
3, .Please have the Fish Creek field trip form returned if you haven't already,
'
All the best!
