The students reviewed what it means to 'just write' today. They were tasked with moving their pencils across their papers to express any ideas they feel need to be expressed! For example, this could be considered a 'journaling' time to solve problems in their minds, it could be a story writing time... It could be anything! What matters, though, is that the students use writing as a way to express what is in their minds.
The students continued their learning today about how to use a number line to link addition and subtraction to distance. They also learned that they are opposite operations. So 19+5=24 is in the same family as 24-5=19. This will help them dramatically in the new year.
Tomorrow we are very excited to finalize our visual journal planning page for our upcoming stories.
Reminers:
1. Yellow skating forms should be returned as soon as possible. We need to get a sense of how many skates we need to borrow.
2. Below is a message from Mrs. Roworth:
Are you a F.E.F.?
We are looking for Fit Evergreen Families! If you like to get active as a family, we want your pictures to add to our F.E.F. wall. If you don’t have a picture, try and get out and do something active with your whole family and take a selfie. What are some easy ways to get out and move as the weather gets colder? Walk the dog. Throw a ball. Go for a hike. Try something new! Skiing? Snow shoeing? Cross Country skiing? Skating? Tobogganning? Come up with your own family adventure and start bringing in your photos!
*Put your name on the back if you want your picture returned.
*Pictures will be posted on a Bulletin Board in the school.
All the best,
Mr. MacKenzie
