What a day! The children were able to explore nature in a playful way has they completed a sensory scavenger hunt, and they built a number of questions designed to be explored further.
For example, half of our class arrived a question about human impact on the park, while the other half discussed the water by asking how to tell if water is dirty or clean.
As we explored the park in the afternoon, we sought out and discovered different ways that humans impact the land. From watching a mountain biker on a 'fat bike', to observing cross-country ski tracks and domestic animal waste, the children began to make observations and connections about how we use the land.
Tomorrow will be a full day as well, as we continue learning how to be a journalist.
Reminders:
1. Skating forms must be returned ASAP
2. Volunteers please email me. We need one more for February 7th and 15th, and 3 more for February 13th.
Have an excellent night,
Mr. MacKenzie
Ms. Kerner
