Your children are robots! No, just kidding. But they played the role today. The students learned all about coding, sequence, and how computers think. They programmed each other to solve different puzzles through simple arrows. Up meant to take a step forward, a right arrow meant to turn right, a left arrow turned them left. Afterwards, they were quickly introduced to 'Lightbot', which is an online coding game. It becomes very difficult and is the precursor to developing games of their own.
The students also supplemented their 'needs and wants' by discussing communities and how we are social beings (See above). The students thought about how all of their communities provide opportunities to enhance their quality of life.
Upcoming Events:
I have been looking at upcoming field trips after the Winter Break. We are going to the Bell Music Centre on January 16th, Fish Creek Park January 30th and skating at the Olympic Oval on February 7th, 13th and 15th. I will need some parent volunteers for all of these trips! If you would like to join us please send me an email with the date and field trip that you are able to join us with.
