What makes a good bridge? The students began to experiment with possible bridge designs, using one piece of paper as their only material. Once students created a structure they then tested how strong it was, placing various weights on their bridges. Students made multiple iterations of their designs, testing different strategies in attempts to hold the most weight. In math students continued to work with their multiplication tables, finding the various patterns throughout the table.
Next week the students will begin to create their very own National Geographic magazine, so if students have extra time this weekend it would be beneficial to read through a couple of magazines, looking at all of the text features.
Reminders:
Monday January 30th we are going on a field trip to Fish Creek Park, make sure field trip forms are in! Please dress for the weather.
Students also have been given field trip forms for skating, these need to be handed back in as soon as possible.
