This morning students worked on finishing a variety of projects, such as Father's Day surprise, praying mantis habitats (they are getting so big!), non-fiction writing about our animals, and Minute to Win It.
This afternoon students participated in a conversation about The Hero's Journey. We discussed how many of our favourite stories, Lord of the Rings, Land of Stories, superheros, Pokémon, and yes, Harry Potter, are all versions of the same story. There are 12 stages (just like a clock!), and discussed how Harry moves through the first five (status quo, call to adventure, assistance, departure, trials, approach). Tomorrow we will be reading number 6! Crisis!
We are going to be having a special picnic in Fish Creek Park on Tuesday, June 27 to celebrate the end of our wonderful grade 3 year! If any parents would like to join us then please send me an email.
Have a wonderful evening!
