Dear families,
I was downtown doing a presentation for a literacy cohort on Wednesday, and today, I am home with my son, as he had surgery late last night. He is doing well with his recovery, so I will be in tomorrow again.
Highlights from Wednesday and Thursday:
The children had some time with Nicole to learn about transitioning to middle school. She is teaching the children organizational skills, such as time management and how to organize their binders. We will have another session next Wednesday.
The children are continuing to work on their Non-fiction writing projects, bridges and researching. These projects will be finished next week, and I am looking forward to seeing them-they look fantastic!
We are doing some focused work on the Ukraine, Tunisia, India and Peru. We are making some Visual Journal pages to show our knowledge.
The students are learning how these countries are similar and different.
In math, the children are working to solve problems as a class, and are continuing their work on refining telling time, multiplication, division and data reading.
In literacy, the students are learning how to paraphrase different types of texts. They are showing how they comprehend the information they are reading.
Reminders:
Mosaic opening is on Monday from 4-6 pm. You are welcome to join us for the entire time, or just part of the time.
Please send in your picture orders-paper version through the school is due tomorrow. They can be ordered through the school via an envelope, or you can order them online too. There are many extra options online-including more backgrounds to choose from.
