In math, we talked about what different features are used when designing a home. We looked at different pictures and created a class criteria of our dream home. This is part 1 of our Architect project.
Students are designing the outside of their home. This project will cover measurement, 2D shapes, a fractions.
In art, we combined it with social studies. We looked at a variety of pictures of mandalas and asked ourselves, what country we think it is from and why is it important. Students identified that it is symmetrical and has a center point. Using different examples and tools around the classroom, students began to make their own unique mandalas.
Tomorrow we will be going on our field trip to the music centre. Please ensure to pack a full lunch and a water bottle. If my volunteers could be at the school no later than 8:30 that would be great. The bus is scheduled to leave around 8:35.
