This afternoon, students were introduced to 3 new tasks in math. Every day this week, students will be completing part of each task. The first task is a math warm-up focusing on a specific skill, such as division or place value. The second task is combining various skills to complete one task and the third is Minute to Win It. Students complete small minute challenges and record their progress. Because today was an introduction, we only had time to complete one minute to win it. How many times can you roll a 6. We will be collecting data this week and graphing it.
In science, students continued to sort their animals into various categories. They were quite stuck on land, land and water, just water. When asked to sort into more groups, it became a bit of a challenge. Scientist classify animals into specific categories. After much analyzing and discussion, we came to the conclusion of mammals, fish, birds, insects, amphibians and reptiles.
Have a wonderful evening!

Our school is participating in a community walk to support the ALS Society of Alberta on Thursday, June 1, 2017. This is a cause that has directly impacted our school this year. Approximately 3 000 Canadians live with ALS. There is no known cause or cure for this devastating disease - yet.
All proceeds from our walk will stay in Alberta to make each day the best possible day for people living with and affected by ALS. Please use the link below if you would like to make an online donation. Our School ALS Donation Page with the ALS Society of Alberta: EVERGREEN FOR ALS . We thank you for your support!
