As part of our continuation in health, we focused some more on the first habit: Be proactive. Students completed a short survey that provided two scenarios; one that was reactive based on emotions, while the other is more proactive, based on values. Students watched a video of a gopher and examined how he responded to the various situations. Tomorrow we will have a guest speaker come and chat with us about transitioning to middle school.
In math, students rolled various sided dice, graphed it and recorded their discoveries. Our next step will be continuing to collect and graph data in different scenarios.
In science we accomplished a lot! Our praying mantis egg has arrived! Students are very excited. We researched how we are to care for them and learned how long it takes for them to hatch. As a class we reviewed our quiz of life cycles. The third thing we completed in science was determining whether things have truly become extinct or have them adapted and changed. I showed them a progression of the telephone. They were fascinated!
Have a wonderful evening!
