Happy Friday!
This morning during our morning meeting, students sorted different scenarios into big and little deals. We chatted about possible reactions and how we are expected to react. Some of the scenarios were:
- not getting our favorite snack
- missing a pencil
- falling on the playground
In preparation of the upcoming Coding day, students were introduced to coding. Students were given the symbols and asked what they thought they meant. They were quick to recognize it had something to do with directions, but were unsure what the directions were for. They were then provided with different visuals and had to create the program in order to create the image. Each Friday, we will have the next step in building our understanding of coding. The purpose of coding is to build our problem solving skills in a context different than math.
I sent home the remainder of the pictures.
Have a wonderful evening!
