Have you ever had a light bulb moment? Today in math it seemed as though there were several of them. Students were asked to work independently to create both the multiplication and division sentences. They rocked it! For some added practice click on the following link.
In the afternoon we presented a reader's theatre to our buddies and helped them locate Star Fall. We concluded the afternoon working on our Psanky eggs. The detail and process to complete them is amazing! Have a wonderful evening! Mrs. Hordyk It absolutely amazes me how amazing parents are! Thank you for the responses of those who can volunteer. I very much appreciate it. We have enough volunteers for next weeks trip to the Bow Habitat.
This afternoon we visited division. We worked in partners, shared our understanding and related it back to multiplication. Ask your child what their number was and how they solved it. We finished our design and plans for our Psyanky eggs. I'm hoping to begin the decorating tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening! Mrs. Hordyk It was great to see everyone back after the break.
We got right into our work! This morning Mrs. Henderson reviewed and introduced the next step in their preparation for the Spring Concert on April 20th. We had an assessment on division and multiplication. We have a pretty strong grasp on multiplication, but will need to revisit division. In the afternoon, we travelled to our next country of study, Ukraine. We discussed similarities and differences between their culture and ours. As the upcoming holiday of Easter approaches, we talked about how in Ukraine they also decorate eggs, but they are called Psanky Eggs. We watched a video of the process and were amazed! We will be designing our own and creating them. We are in need of one volunteer for the upcoming field trip to the Bow Habit. Have a wonderful evening! Mrs. Hordyk |
