Hello Everyone,
What an insanely busy day - the kids jumped immediately into their science work for their upcoming presentations. They've been researching recycling in Calgary (and in the world) through questions they've devised as well as questions given to them by their teachers. They are using these questions to dig deeper into the hierarchy of reduce, reuse, and recycle. To assist in their research and planning we have developed a project page that can be found here.
Parents, if you are looking for a way to connect with what we are learning, the video below has been created by the city of Calgary, and is only 6 minutes long. The students will be teaching the content to the rest of the school, so it might be worth while to check it out with them and have them talk about what goes in our blue bins, where recycling goes, and how it is sorted.
Upcoming Dates:
Monday, September 14 - Parents can begin signing up for Parent Teacher Conferences.
Reminders:
We are looking for any and all plastic/tin lids from containers in your house. If you could please clean them and send them to school with your child, it would be hugely appreciated.
If you have any broken electronics kicking around, please send them to school. We're going to be dismantling them and seeing if we can use their motors to create cars that move.
Question of the Day:
How is glass sorted at the Recycling Depot?
