The next step in our Global Citizenship project is to develop criteria that describes the ultimate organization to support, to choose an organization, and to build arguments that will change minds or that will bring awareness to their cause. To do this, students brainstormed all of the different ways that the media persuades us for different causes. Some of the answers were predictable (web pages, commercials, posters, etc.) but others were not traditional such as t-shirts and bags. I'm starting to wish that we had started this project a few weeks earlier!
In math students are continuing to look at data collection whether it is through "Minute to Win it" games or analyzing traffic vehicles and speeds in our school zone. Students are starting to make outstanding predictions and are excited to prove (or disprove) their hypothesis.
Upcoming Dates:
June 23: We will be practicing our evacuation walk, and require adults to help meet our 8:1 ratio.
June 24: We would like to make up our missed trip to Fish Creek. If you can volunteer, please let us know!
